"Finance For Kidz: Risk & Return" is written by Dr. Prakash Dheeriya, a Professor of Finance at California State University.
This book is obviously geared toward children, with the intention of teaching them financial management skills to make them better managers of money as they grow to adulthood.
This book is intended to be read aloud to kids like a story book. This is a book in the series "Finance for Kidz." Like all books in the series, it revolves around a family consisting of a dad (Mr. Zrugal), a mom (Mrs. Zrugal), their kids (Zulia, Zyler & Zimmy) and their kids friend (Joey). In risk and Return, Joey explains the concept of risk to Zyler, who has to decide whether to wash his neighbor's car. Zyler appears to be a risk-taker, since he did make some money by helping out an old lady without expecting anything in return.
This book is in line with the trend toward teaching children entrepreneurship skills at younger and younger ages. Being able to manage finances is a key part of being a successful entrepreneur -- both managing the business's finances as well as for the owner's personal finances.
