"Standing on the Sun: How the Explosion of Capitalism Abroad Will Change Business Everywhere" by Christopher Meyer is published by Harvard Business Review Press.

Christopher Meyer is a strategy consultant. Julia Kirby, who is a contributor to the book, is Editor-at-Large of the Harvard Business Review.

The authors take a fresh look at where the center of capitalism is today (you might be surprised at the answer), competition and what this shift means for stakeholder value.

The authors guide the reader from the perspective of the US being at the center of the economic engine to moving to the sidelines to make way for other global superpowers.

By 2050, emerging economies like Brazil, India and China will be taking center stage, says Meyer. He explores the question of whether these emerging economies will behave more like their Western predecessors or whether they will adopt their own practices and create a new version of capitalism.

This is a book written with Twitter discussion in mind. As one reviewer notes, it has something unusual -- a discussion prompter for Twitter. There is a break out of each chapter and then suggested hashtags for any discussions that readers can have on Twitter.
