"We Are Market Basket" shares the story of a family business, much beloved by the community, which is in the midst of a civil between family members who own almost equal shares of the business, but prefer to run it different ways. One brother wants to run the family business the way it always has with attention to detail, promotion from within, and leniency toward employees going through a crisis (a bottom-up approach). The other brother wants to focus on profits. In his view, making profits makes sure investors are motivated to ensure the success of the store (top-down approach). The battle between brothers gets nasty with tabloid reports, walkouts, and company takeovers. At the end of the day, the employees, customers, and managers have to determine who the company really belongs to.
